About Advize
Built by People Who Believe in Environmental Protection and Fair Enforcement
Advize was built from firsthand experience with how environmental laws are enforced in the real world.
We believe strongly in environmental protection. Clean water, responsible industrial practices, and strong environmental laws matter. Businesses play a critical role in protecting our environment, and most companies want to do the right thing.
At the same time, we have seen how the enforcement system can work in ways that many businesses do not fully understand, especially when it comes to documentation and public records. Advize exists to help close that understanding gap.
Why Advize Was Created
One of Advize's founders previously worked for a California-based citizen environmental organization early in their career. That experience provided direct exposure to how citizen enforcement actions are initiated and pursued.
In many cases, facilities were not targeted because of environmental harm. They were targeted because of paperwork.
Missing reports, inconsistent filings, outdated documents, or gaps between what permits required and what appeared in public systems were often enough to justify enforcement pressure or legal action. These actions were legally permitted under environmental laws, even when facilities were operating in good faith and actively trying to comply.
What became clear was not that environmental laws were wrong, but that many businesses did not understand how vulnerable they were to documentation-based scrutiny.
Environmental Protection and Documentation Both Matter
Environmental laws exist to protect public health and natural resources, and citizen enforcement plays an important role in that system. Transparency and accountability are essential.
However, transparency only works when records accurately reflect reality.
When documentation is incomplete, inconsistent, or difficult to interpret, it can create a distorted picture of a facility's environmental performance. That distortion can trigger actions that are costly, time-consuming, and disruptive, even for companies that are making sincere efforts to operate responsibly.
Advize was built to help ensure that documentation tells the full and accurate story.
The Documentation Gap Most Companies Do Not See
Stormwater and environmental programs generate extensive documentation across multiple systems and agencies. From inside a facility, teams may feel confident they are meeting requirements and protecting the environment.
From the outside, public records can look very different.
Citizen groups and third parties rely on what is visible in public systems. They do not see internal processes, intentions, or good-faith efforts. They see documents, dates, uploads, and reported data. Gaps in that record, even when unintentional, can become the basis for enforcement.
Advize helps companies see that external view clearly.
Our Approach
Advize is a software platform designed to provide visibility into how stormwater documentation and reporting appear across public systems.
The platform aggregates publicly available regulatory records, facility-provided documents, and environmental data. It highlights documentation gaps, record inconsistencies, and reporting issues that commonly raise questions during external review.
Important: Advize does not determine compliance and does not provide legal advice. Instead, it gives organizations the information they need to review and strengthen their documentation with confidence, often in collaboration with consultants or legal counsel.
The goal is not to avoid environmental responsibility. The goal is to make sure responsible behavior is accurately reflected in the public record.
What Advize Helps Organizations Do
Advize helps organizations:
- Understand how their stormwater records appear externally
- Identify missing, outdated, or inconsistent documentation
- Align internal processes with what is visible in public systems
- Reduce unnecessary exposure driven by paperwork issues
- Support environmental compliance efforts with clearer records
By improving documentation visibility, companies are better positioned to focus on actual environmental performance rather than reactive paperwork disputes.
Built from Real-World Experience
Advize was built based on direct exposure to how citizen enforcement actions are evaluated and pursued. We use the same public data sources that external reviewers rely on, but organize them in a way that is usable for internal teams.
Every finding is tied to specific records so users can understand what was identified and why.
Who Uses Advize
Advize is used by industrial facilities, environmental consultants, and corporate EHS teams that care about environmental protection and want clearer insight into their documentation and reporting posture.
Across all users, the objective is the same: Protect the environment, comply with the law, and avoid being targeted over preventable documentation gaps.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support environmental compliance by improving clarity and transparency.
By helping organizations understand and strengthen their documentation, we support both environmental protection and fair enforcement.
